The scope of the BSCI Coyol Renovation Project is the construction of a 1600 m2 Clean room and service areas with a total area of 750 m2. It also comprises the construction of two 300 m2 buildings designed to serve as Recycling Room and Chemical Substances Room.
Among the most interesting aspects is the use of a constructive system of ceilings and prefabricated walls specially designed for clean rooms. The ceiling is fastened with threaded rods from a secondary structure and then the walls are built. The ceiling is sufficiently stable and resistant to walk on it, allowing easy access to electromechanical systems for maintenance purposes. The panels come completely ready to assemble and require no additional finishing or painting.
The air conditioning, fire protection and control systems as well as the monitoring of clean room conditions are also complex and very specific to the needs of the Client, which requires special involvement from the engineering team at Constructora Proycon.
The project is going at a good pace and it is expected to complete the work in December 2014. The schedule progress is monitored daily and it is also daily reported through metric evaluations with specific graphics for each discipline.
It should be noted that very strict standards of occupational safety based on OSHA are applied; and to date, “Zero Accidents” goal has been achieved. The company also has a recycling program, a Waste Management Plan and a Chemical Waste Management.
Recently, the project was evaluated as part of an environmental audit, and zero non-conformances were achieved with respect to ISO 14001.
